Marantz is a company that manufactures and sells high-end audio products since 1953. It was founded in New York but now located in Japan.

Saul Marantz designed and built the first Marantz audio product in his home in Kew Gardens, New York. The high point of the company’s success in developing high fidelity audio systems started in the mid to late 1970s.

While under the ownership of Philips, the pioneer in CD technology, Marantz sold some CD players, but others were not as successful. So, by the 1990s, Marantz focused on higher-end components. It eventually merged with Denon and later named D+M Group, which is currently acquired by Sound United LLC.

Specialised Products

The venerable Marantz launched an all-in-one, full-width, network receiver, and that is the Marantz NR1200. This high-performing device is in between a soundbar and a full AV receiver with surround sound. Despite its compact chassis, the NR1200 has maintained the warm sonic Marantz signature with huge power.

Moreover, this stereo receiver has two separate DACs per channel, which improves the signal-to-noise ratio, increases the dynamic range of the audio, and delivers a clear sound even on a very low signal resolution.

Users can listen to their music with HEO multi-room audio built-in from Spotify, TuneIn Internet Radio, Tidal, Amazon Music, and more. It can also deliver music to any room that has a HEOS-capable speaker, component, or system. Users have options to play the same song in every room or select a different song for each room connected.

Marantz’s pursuit of unrelenting curiosity and sonic fidelity is alive today. The passion he left courses through all the things the company is doing. Marantz proves its unwavering attention to detail and produces HiFi sound that showcases emotion and mastery of music. The refined elements of quality sound are the core in each component of Marantz.

Marantz engineers are committed to providing the purest reproduction of HiFi Sound. Their HDAMs or Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules deliver detailed reproduction and ultra-wide-band response. The Marantz Musical Mastering filters new media files into outstanding high-resolution playback.
